There is a duck wandering around our carpark at work - there is no water anyway near here and we don't know what to do!!  It looks okay but hasn't flown off - do you think we should call the RSPCA (I know they're useless) or someone else??  Any advice would be great!!

Is there a local vet you could call ?  They might be able to give some advice over the phone.

Get some oranges, potatoes and broccoli and enjoy dinner.

I was thinking more along the lines of hoi-sin sauce, spring onions and pancakes!!!!

Glad to say that I think Mr Duck came along and found her and they've now gone on their merr way!!  :-)

Your lucky - I hada  small pond (and I mean SMALL - about 5' x 2'6") in my front garden once upon a time, and a female duck moved in and took over - she'd swim on the pond, nest under the hedge, which was sweet, she'd even come to the front door for her breakfast!  Problem was, she'd roost on then hubbies car - and duck poo aint' good for paintwork :(

Soooooooo - I took her to the village pond, where there were other ducks (and a Drake!) to play with - she just followed me home, quaking all the way...........

Eventually we had to take her by car to a HUGE pond about 4 miles away.......

Aw bless...she's probably still on her way home now...webbed feet all sort from wandering the streets, quacking for her mummy.... :D :D :D

Aw bless - this could have been her.....could be the duck equivalent of The Littlest Hobo - every stop I make, I make a new friend, don't stay for long just turn around and I'm gone again!!!  :D :D :D

Did this one have a lickle stick with a hankie tied at the end with her flipper slippers and her duck seed inside? :D
- By Charanda [de] Date 15.04.05 12:33 UTC
Yep - a little red and white spotted hanky tied to the end ;-)  I just thought - maybe it wasn't the duck equivalent of The Littlest Hobo - it could have been the duck equivalent of Dick Whittington looking for those streets paved with gold!!!  :D

No, not streets paved with gold - pond lined with gold :D :D :D

She's probably out there, making little maps for her ducklings, showing them the way to the Promised Pond :D

Don't start me off - took me ages to get over the thought that her chosen family hadd abandoned her.........  :(

I'm sure she's okay really :-)  how did the song go..... and she went with quack and a waddle and a quack and a flurry of eiderdown!!  I'll bet she's a beautiful swan now!!  :-)

Oh don't Charanda, that reminds me of the time my cousin and I spent ages when we were out rollerblading one night trying to work out how ducklings became swans!  We were in our 20s at the time and still couldn't work it out!!!  We knew that song, but just couldn't get our head round the logistics of it ... I think I had to ask my mum in the end!  :D

Earl (with the blonde hair, obviously!)

lol @ Earl :D  That song used to make me cry!!  I hope that by the time you were in your 20s it was only ducklings/swans that you were still confused about - you know that storks don't  really deliver babies now?!!?!  ;-)  ;-)
