Will the bone be affected by defrosting in a microwave?

As far as I know, chicken should always be defrosted slowly and not in a microwave as this can be the cause of bacteria growing on the raw meat

You can defrost chicken wings in the microwave but you must be very careful not to cook the bone.
Alternatively you could feed it frozen, I often do in the summer or put it in a plastic bag and in a bowl of hot water.
Dogs can cope with the bacteria in raw meat as long as they are not immuno compromised; their stomachs are far more acidic than ours! :D

I usually defrost in the fridge over night but forgot and i was a little unsure about putting the wings in the microwave.I gave them frozen when they were teething but will probably give them frozen in the summer too,its a good idea. thanks

Have to say the older two will not touch a carcass but got the pup on them and she loves them.
Can I just ask a question my dogs get chicken wings but they never get them frozen, why do some of you feed them this way am just interested thats all and no offence at all intended, is there a reason behind it????

I feed my younger one frozen sometimes because she likes it and it is easier ...Hudson gets bellyache if he eats frozen meat (not too good for a *snow* dog eh? :D )
It can help when they are teething as well :)
Rite cheers for that
