Hello
Has anyone come across this problem
I have a 17 month old cavalier male who was very ill during last November. He started with a sore throat (tonsilitis) which would not go away. Firstly he was given generic synulox, followed by tetracyclin, then a swab was done on the throat and it transpired he had an infection called 'pseudomonas'. He was then given Marbocyl tablets and 2 injections of Baytril. However by this time the infection had become somewhat entrenched and it moved to the spinal cord on the opposite side of his neck. We had a very worrying few weeks but after many vet visits it finally cleared up.
However, on grooming him in late January I happened to notice that his testicles had completely disappeared and gone back into his body.
I did some massage with baby oil (don't laugh) for 2 weeks and have left well alone since. My husband has been giving him wheatgerm oil capsules 1000mg, selenium and folic acid, daily, and they are finally beginning to grow, albeit small.
This was my show hopeful, beautifully trained, a natural.
Coupled with the shrinkage he also had a dry coat and lost his nose pigment which was coal black.
The coat is coming back along with the pigment.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this or know of someone who has and what was the eventual outcome?
Thanks for reading.
Chris
