Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Entering OPEN Shows first time??!!
- By Guest [gb] Date 12.04.05 13:57 UTC
When entering Open/Champ Shows for the first time, I will be entering Pre-Beginners or Beginners Classes.  Now my question to those who understand these things is do any wins or places at previous Exemption/Companion Shows count?

I entered a couple for practice purposes!  Have happily been placed and recently came first too!

May I still enter Pre-Beginner and Beginners?

I do appreciate the help and advice of experiened competitiors on this Site.

Sorry, have never heard of "pre-beginner" but for beginner it is not to have won first prize at a champ or open show. There is not often a beginners class at open shows. You do not say how old your dog is, but if under 12 months old, I would say you would be best to enter the puppy class, or if he is 12 to 18 months, the junior class.

At dog club yesterday waiting for class to commence I was reading the notice boards. I think the guest is talking about obedience classes :) Can't help any more than that though.

Fillis the poster is talking about Obedience compettion.  As far as I can remeber results at Comapnion shows as with breed showing so not count.

Hi Guest,
Yes you can enter Pre-Beg and Beginners at Open/Champ shows - you don't have to count any wins you've had at Companion (Exemption) Shows.  Best of luck!
