lindsay, alot of top handlers seem to have young malnios <sp?> at the moment, be really interesting to see how popular they become if they start doing well. gorgoeus looking dogs,

- By michelled [gb] Date 11.04.05 14:00 UTC

- By sandrah Date 11.04.05 14:09 UTC
I don't know what you look like......for me, just look out for the prettist bitch on the obediience circult ;)  (That is the dog by the way not me LOL)

I am only doing Novice for the first few shows, after my stay problem last year I want to know she is solid in novice stays before I try an out of sight.  My first A is South London (gulp) if I pluck up enough courage.
- By Tigerlily [gb] Date 11.04.05 14:17 UTC
Big congratulations :-)
Could you explain the obedience points/winning system to me I have no idea what A, B and C's are, only as letters of course!
- By michelled [gb] Date 11.04.05 14:32 UTC
in obedience the classes are lowest first highest last

pre-beginners,beginners,novice, A,B,C,CH C
- By Tigerlily [gb] Date 11.04.05 14:39 UTC
Thanks for that Michelle, you learn something everyday! :-)
- By michelled [gb] Date 11.04.05 14:43 UTC
in B,the exercises are,
heelfree,Heelwork off the lead in slow ,normal & fast pace, left turns right turns about turns left about turns. no extra commands-so you can command when you set off & when you change pace, but thats it. also no extra body signals (its really hard to keep your head still & your hand in the same place etc) the dog should stay  perfectly by your side, wides ,the dog going forward or lagging or swinging its bum out would be marked
sendaway. send dog away to area ,drop, then does a recall on command & joins up into Hw
retrieve,jugdes article
stays, out of sight, 2min sit 5min down
scent, blank cloths decoy cloths & dog haS TO FIND HANDLERS  cloth

Wow, sounds pretty dawn complicated to me, but must be so much fun! You are doing well then to get where you are, keep it up. Don't think my stubborn bulldog Dozer will be very good at obedience :-D :-D :-D
- By michelled [gb] Date 11.04.05 15:08 UTC
its more complicated than that but didnt want to bore everyone!!!
it is fun,but sometimes very frustrating. but half the fun is working on what went wrong & trying to put it right. its good just spending a day with other doggy people too.
- By michelled [gb] Date 11.04.05 14:29 UTC

I was judging yesterday as an emergency replacement for a friend who has a very poorly baby puppy Yorkie I'm recovering from the ordeal ;) my feet are killing, but I did get my reports off to the two Obedience magazines & ObedienceUK before I fell asleep at the PC :D Dedication or what !
- By michelled [gb] Date 11.04.05 15:14 UTC
did sheffield have big entries? poor planning to have two midlands shows on the same day.it would have been good to do one onthe sat & go on to the other on sunday.
- By Moonmaiden Date 11.04.05 15:21 UTC
1 pre bee, 2 beginners, 3 novices, 3 A's, 2 B's 2  C's

The wind was terrible the poor dogs had some problems in scent with the wind drifting the scent across the blanks & it started off sunny then cloudy & brief rain shower then sunny again & the wind dried out the surface it was a mixture of grass & soil on the footie pitch & the wind dried the soil & we had clouds of dust when the dumbells landed Hey ho what fun eh
- By Blondiflops [gb] Date 11.04.05 15:15 UTC
I've seen pictures, she is beautiful!!! Not fattish at all silly Michelle!
