Topic Other Boards / Foo / MG Rover?
- By Carla Date 10.04.05 19:50 UTC
Am I the only cynic that thinks the govt has stepped in because an election is coming up?

Am I the only person who wonders why MG Rover is getting all this help when thousands of others have been made redundant in the past (myself included) with no help?

Am I the only person to think that MG Rover is pretty doomed anyway?

Discuss :)

No I agree with you ChloeH. It is a private company when all is said and done. I dont see the government stepping in to help all and sundry private companies all over the UK. It is public money they are using. Sorry rant over!

Hi Chloe yes you are right in thinking MG Rover is doomed i was watching a tv programme today regarding how much the ex management had paid themselves. and the person who was fronting the programme said Rover is doomed but MG must be kept alive as the name stands out amonst the giants of motor car manufactoring

My thoughts exactly.  I was made redundant from a small company last year with the minumum pay out and no help or advice whatsoever.

Hasnt the goverment just given it 1.6 MILLION to get it through a WEEK even tho the one company that was going to invest wont touch it while it is in administration :o
I feel very sorry for the people that are loosing their jobs, but 1.6 million of our money to a company that hasnt got a hope in hell of surviving????????????????
the 1.6 million would be better off paid to the employees to help them.
Oh and also recover the assets off the bosses that are living the life of luxery!!!!!!!! :( : (
Just my opinion.

My brother - in - law works there & I also know a few other Rover workers. :(

My husband was made redundant a few years ago when Stuart crystal ceased manufacuring here, it was hard at the time, but we got through it. :)

I'm sure the Gov would step in if my company went under (not).  It looks good for the Gov doe'nt it, afterall they'r not bothered it's not their money, it's ours.
