Ive just walked up to my mums house with Ollie (making sure he went to the loo on the way). After his usual 2 mins sniffing round and greeting my mother, he promptly cocked his leg on a door :o . MY mum dosn't own a dog, only a cat (we have one so he is used to them) he had just urinated before we got there so he was definately scent marking. Any ideas why he did this in my mothers house ?

Because it was 'unclaimed property' at a guess, and he wanted those who come after him (if any) to know he was there first....

That is just too funny!! :D :D :D :D :D

When Holly was about 14wks old she was outside in the garden with Chris helping him wash the windows. He came in screaming like a girl after 10mins though, she'd weed in his Timberland boots, whilst he was wearing them. I laughed so much I was nearly sick :D :D :D :D

that reminds me of when we left our westie alfie for the longest weve left him, we were chuffed that there were no little accidents, but it was,nt until later that my son found one of his skates filled. don't ask me how he maNAGED IT OR IF IT WAS INTENTIONAL, BUT WE DID LAUGH AT THE CHEEKY LITTLE MITE

I was watching a freinds Westie for 2 weeks along with my 2 as she went on holiday.
I had to keep him in the kitchen as he cocked his leg every 30 mins on my kitchen units, table etc..

He even cocked his leg on me a few times..

I have not had this experience as always owned bitches but now have a 4 month pup but I am worried he does this. also..

I ahve to say I didnt' give hima row as I knew it was a strange house but interested in replies for my own dog...

A meter man came into my house the other day and Shadow was that excited he promptly weed on his shoe. Ididnt point it out to him and i dont think he noticed but i still couldnt hide my embarressment:)
or maybe he did notice but was too shy to say anything. Any way Shadow stays firmly by my side whenever any one comes in

Hows this for embarrassing. We were at a show with the dogs and were standing round the Sammie ring as I have always had a soft spot for them. Floyd was standing watching them as well. We were so engrossed we didn't see floyd cock his leg. When we looked down we saw he was peeing on a crate.....but..horrors..there was a beautifully groomed Sammie in the crate with a now very yellow patch on his snow white side.We looked around ready to do some serious grovelling but there was no one near this crate, so what did we do? We did a runner!!!! I can only hope the dog had already been in the ring :O

Ok I have a confession to make..I didnt tell my mum, she was out of the room at the time, as it was only a bit on the paintwork I mopped it off dead quick. I put him on his lead after and made him sit down next to me, he started to whine and my mum was saying to me '' its ok let him of the lead he only wants to sniff around '' I didn't dare tell her what he had done she isnt much of a doggy person.
:D . Neeedless to say I will be going on my own next time :D

OOhh you devil, I'm telling on you!!:D thats exactly what I'd do as well, or even better I'd have blamed it on the cat!

While at an indoor dog show, my friends husband had hung his waxed jacket over a chair. Barder, my wolfhound, ( while I wasnt paying too much attention, nattering as usual) cocked his leg, and promptly peed in the pocket of the wax jacket :) Thankfully my friends husband is doggy orientated and didnt mind tooooo much

Phil, I'll never forget watching a family sitting on a rug in the sun having a picnic at the ringside while Melanter Hakon strutted his stuff in the ring. Then Hakon came back to the end of the line beside the family, cocked his leg - and got them right in the thermos! You now have three guesses as to how his owner reacted :-).

Hi sharon, let me see, 1) red 2) apologetic 3) mortified lol
- By Sharon McCrea [gb] Date 21.05.02 09:02 UTC
Wrong Phil :-) Remember who owned him, and add the fact that he was going for his 3rd CC at the time ....

Hi Nicky
your exact problem happened to me a while ago too, only at my fiance's grandparents. It is sooo embarrassing, but they didn't see either, and I admit, I just mopped up the tiny dribble with a tissue and kept him on a lead for the remaining visit! I even pretended that I was blowing my nose on the tissue before putting it in the bin!! :D Morris the JRT knew very quickly he shouldn't have done it though, hence only a small dribble. I keep him on a lead in non-doggy houses now.
Emily
ps. I feel really guilty, honest!! but 90year old grandparents can do without the stress! and I too had to politely decline offers to let him 'investigate' and have a sniff around!

my dog pippin hates everyone, animal or human, all except my new friend cynthia. when we went to her house yesterday he cocked his leg on her toilet mat ,we had just been on a long walk so he must have been making himself at home although he doesn't wee in my house, luckily she saw the funnyside of it and he is still welcome

I took my dalmatian on holiday. We took him to the beach. On the beach was a man and his son playing quietly in the sand. My dog ran up (selectively deaf to my calling), said hello, and cocked his leg all over the sandcastle.

Could have died.
