Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / How to Use a Shepherd's Whistle.

I wonder if anyone can tell me how to use a shepherd's whistle? I have recently bought one for use with our Border Collie pup and can't get anything out of it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Walter.

LOL it takes loads of practice & I got a shepherd to show me & even then it took ages ! It's a sort of blowing across the whistle technique & I never was very good !

It took me 3 months to conquer the shepherds whistle, I got many a strange look at traffic lights as I persevered whilst driving to and from work.

Once I could play Rule Britannia on it I started to use it on my dogs.

Basically you breathe through it rather than blow down it if that makes any sense.......... :D

Has admin gone a bit loopy with the ''troll button'' ?!
I can hardly find any posts on visitors questions that aren't labelled
''Possible Troll Post - Treat with Caution and Don't Feed !!!''

Why could this person be a troll? He's asking a genuine question!

I got confused too but I think admin is doing it for any guest post just to remind us that any guest could be a troll.  But as we have found out lately there are a few members who are trolls too :D :D
