There are a lot of things you can do beforehand to give you a head start, i.e. practicing your reliable waits and recalls, and teaching your dog his 'left' and 'right' and sending the dog 'away' from you. Mostly the directional work, but you might want to wait and see which commands your club uses.

Also, if you want a cheap way to practice and you have enough room in your garden, you can buy some garden cane poles and use them as weaves or jumps. To make the jump I just used 3 poles, 2 of them poked in the ground with washing pegs on and the 3rd one balancing across the washing pegs!

Best of luck to you both with your agility career!! Might see you competing one day :)

hi, ana x,

just wondering where about you're from as I've been doing agility for a little while with my 2 beagles and we're doing a few shows this year (when my youngest one manages to stay in her own ring lol).  Maybe see you at some shows?
