I've just gone downstairs, into the kitchen, to make a start on dinner. Through the glass door, I could see Thor, staring thoughtfully at something on the floor. As I opened the door a MOUSE scuttled away from Thor and under the sink unit!!!

Thor was most annoyed that I had disturbed his "friend" - he made no attempt whatsoever to chase/molest it in any way - Nick says no wonder he doesn't want us to tidy up his blanket in his bed - he always barks when we do this :D - how many more is he hiding I wonder???
This calls for Buster the Rasta & the whole company of Catsenders being situated in the kitchen tonight, I think!

That is so sweet. Unfortunately, mice in my house don't have a chance as either the cats will play with it like a football or they eat them.....

My mums Sheltie gets very upset when the cats come home with a dead mouse. He howls, whilst guarding it from the cats.
Our staff is too slow to react, and when the mice come in they are still alive. I have to chase the cats out the house. When the cat growls her teeth are firmly clasped around the rodent, sam goes to have a look, but then goes back to his bed. He is too lazy to get involved.
The British gas ads where the dog, cat and mouse sit by a fire - were they having a laugh? A cat and a mouse in the same room, not a hope of survival. I have never seen and a dog and a mouse together, but is has a lovely image.

My cats generally bring in their prey live, and I have discovered (to my dismay when I found mouse kidneys and blood stains on the wood floor) that they actually come straight in and go behind the tv so the dogs cant disturb them whilst they torture it then crunch it up :( If the dogs manage to intercept the cats on the way through they are quite good at catching whatever it is and then running off outside with it (and usually eating it )
That's so weird, our cat always used to leave the kidneys aswell, I could never work out whether it was the bit she didn't like or whether it was a presssie for us!

My cats' always drown their mice in the dogs' water bowls!
We get live ones, dead ones, just body parts, regurgitated ones but always if they eat them they leave the same part. Not sure what it is, looks like the liver though, too big to be kidneys. The worst is when they bring them in live and let go of them, can be hours trying to catch the little critters, especially the birds!!! The time of was most cross with them was when they brought in a red squirrel, I was not happy. It was dead. Cats can be so cruel and torturous. But I love them to bits regardless.

Im lucky in one way with my cat, he cant be bothered to catch anything, even a cold is to much trouble. The downside is he hates going outside, to him its shere torture. He considers me as his butler, whilst he lords it on the sofa. Boy has he got a shock coming when the pup arrives.
You are lucky! He will adapt fine when the pups arrive, mine have learnt which level they are safe on and as the pup is not allowed on the settee or bedrooms, they still have their usual sleeping places. You will be surprised.
Think my cats will be straight out the door when my new pup arrives....
