Puppy classes vary greatly. IMHO you should attend one without your puppy first to see how it's run - most good instructor would have no problem with this are realise you are putting your puppy first. you should expect to see play sessions being carefully managed, with no puppies cowering undefended under chairs, no bullying. Yes, it may well be noisy, but the trainer should be covering owners concerns, and the aims should be towards making the puppy well socialised and well adpted to living with humans of all ages. There may well be some basic obedience, walking on a loose lead, sit, down etc. Having ears, eyes and teeth looked at, and being restrained for short periods. Above all, the classes should be rewarding for both pup and owner.......
