We are writing our will, and want to know the address of the Cinnamon Trust.
So far I have found two address in Cornwall one in Penzance, and the other in Hayle.
Does anyone know of an address in Dorset, around the Bournemouth/Poole area
I can contact.
Looking forward to any replies.

If you email the above and ask them they may be able to help.
- By Moonmaiden Date 08.04.05 01:03 UTC
If you want the Cinnamon Trust to look after your dogs you will have to leave money for them, a lady approached them to help her when she was dying of Cancer-they never even bothered to reply & in the end the obedience people(she had done obedience in the past) came to her aid & as a result they have a fund to help obedience people in time of need. As it turned out her dogs all went to homes before she died & she passed away knowing that her dogs had loving homes

My dogs get all my money etc when I die & they are not to be killed just because I am dead So if you dead of an owner being smothered by Cavaliers & BC's & a GSD it will be me !
- By kayc [gb] Date 08.04.05 01:11 UTC
:D @ MM. Have visions of BC and Cavaliers pulling pillow across face and GSD sitting on it for good measure. Hmmm. where theres a will theres a way :)
- By Moonmaiden Date 08.04.05 01:34 UTC
Definitely the way they would plan it & then take the pillow & kill it to destroy the evidence ! So they could sit there all innocent !;)

When I die, I'm going to have my dogs PTS and burried with me
- By sarstaff [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:14 UTC
ana_x, would you still do that if your dogs wre young, not critising at all just wondering ?
If say you died in your sleep or suddenly who would know to put them to sleep ?

I dont think dogs are allowed to be buried on church ground are they- or were you joking lol :)
- By ana_x [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:33 UTC
I wasn't joking!

Are dogs not allowed to be burried in church ground?? :(

Think I might have to be burried in the garden then!!
- By ana_x [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:29 UTC
I'm going to write it when I get a will.

Yes I would still have them burried with me even if they were young. I would hate it if they went to a rescue center or something and got placed in a home where they weren't looked after and I wouldn't know!!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:33 UTC
What if they dearly love a member of your family, who would be very glad to have them?
- By ana_x [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:34 UTC
What family!! I'm talking about when I'm old and crippled... I doubt I'll have any kids
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:36 UTC
Have you no plans to have any family in the future?
- By ana_x [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:39 UTC
I don't know!

Having kids seems extremely painful...

Maybe when I've *matured* abit mentally I might.. I'm still a child on the inside :)
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:43 UTC
Having kids is less painful than having a molar abscess!
- By MINI-MEG [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:31 UTC
ide agree with jeangenie on that 1 ide rather give birth than have tooth ache! :d
- By SaraN [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:38 UTC
So if your dogs die before you will you kill yourself to be buried with them?

Limiting another life to benefit your own seems wrong to me.
- By ana_x [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:43 UTC
Course I wont!... When my dogs die, they get cremated.

Have you not heard the story Greyfriers Bobby? (however you spell it!)

I believe, if dogs could talk... that's what they would want.
- By tohme Date 07.04.05 17:45 UTC
You cannot actually legally enforce what happens to your animals after you die in practice anyway.

Appears to be the height of conceit, considering that only you and you alone would keep them properly!  Also to believe that they will pine away if you go.  When nothing could be further from the truth.

Poor dogs.

How do you feel about others who put their dogs down then for no real reason other than convenience?
- By ana_x [gb] Date 07.04.05 17:53 UTC
They actually do pine, when I go away on holiday etc.

I feel, that others who put their dogs down for no real reason other than convenience have no real bond with it and shouldn't have had it in the first place.

I'm not trying to start a fight... I was just saying what I *personally* would want.
- By tohme Date 07.04.05 17:57 UTC
But surely if you truly love your dogs you would put THEIR wants before your own...........

They may pine a little for a short time but as anyone who has had a rescue will attest, they don't miss you for long.............
- By ana_x [gb] Date 07.04.05 18:01 UTC
I HAVE rescues.. most of them come from bad homes, or people that didn't want them anyway.
- By tohme Date 07.04.05 18:03 UTC
Would rescue societies condone this then or have you "rescued" them privately?
- By kayc [gb] Date 07.04.05 18:14 UTC
Surely if this is how you feel you would make sure that in all eventuallity you would no longer have a dog. A dog should never have to be 'killed' just because you see fit to ends its life.  I could never be so selfish. And I KNOW that I will have dogs when I go, I could not possibly live without them, but I know they will live happily without me. Again, not wishing to argue, but your post really is quite sad :(
- By SaraN [gb] Date 07.04.05 18:26 UTC
Just because you will be suddenly deprived of life doesnt mean that your dogs should be! No matter how much you love an animal it doesnt make it right to kill them because you dont want them to live without you!
Mothers dont kill their children to deprive them of a life without a mother. They want them to continue with their lives and be happy.
The same goes for animals as far as Im concerned.
- By gwen [gb] Date 07.04.05 18:43 UTC
I have provision for my dogs in my will.  Most go to my partner, who co-owns many of them anyway, but my 2 special pets are to have a trust fund, with 2 of my friends as trustees/guardians, to oversee placing them in new homes and make sure they are financizlly cared for with vets fees etc for the span of their lives.    I am also trustee fro 2 dogs I bred, should they outlive their owners.

I just want to say, it was a stupid idea I had that wasn't thought out properly... I never really saw it from your side. And to be honest, wasn;t expecting you all to take it so seriously. Obviously, it would never have happened anyway because of laws etc.

We've all had silly ideas at some stage!

There's been enough argueing on the forum lately... I don't want to add to anymore!

sorry.. :(
- By Teri Date 07.04.05 18:54 UTC
Hi Ana,

Don't worry ;)

>We've all had silly ideas at some stage!<

I've had some corkers over the years and will probably go on to have many more - it's a human trait!  Being honest, I am soooo convinced (until I'm made to be rational again by OH ;) ) that life as my family and dogs knows it depends on me that I think they'll all be off committing hari kari (sp  ) if I were to meet a premature end :D

Ana, do not air your ideas or opinions here, you will be set upon. Gone are the days where idealistic views could be chewed over without someone getting uppety. This board has been the same for a very long time so i heard. Keep any nice thoughts to yourself here ;)

Ana, I agree it is a nice thought to take your animals with you. I have boxes and boxes of ashes from the dogs i have owned and lost, they will be with me always and scattered over my grave when i go.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 07.04.05 19:21 UTC
Yes, your suggestion that all crossbreeds should be destroyed was a very popular one, wasn't it, thedark?! ;) Lots of people helped you chew over your idealistic view.
:)
- By thedark [gb] Date 07.04.05 19:22 UTC
No just you JG, flaming, attacking, judging and being generally unpleasant in your usual way. For four years i have watched you be like this, doesnt surprise me that i should recieve your treament along with many others.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 07.04.05 19:45 UTC
Four years? That's surprises me, to be honest, and certainly impresses me, seeing as I've only been a member on here for a little over 2 years.
:D
- By thedark [gb] Date 07.04.05 19:48 UTC
Must be mixing you up with some others. I noticed some of the really horrible ones left...
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 07.04.05 19:49 UTC
LOL! There were several others on that thread who thought you were out of order - even Ana herself! ;) :D
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 07.04.05 19:51 UTC
I'm also very impressed that you managed to read the fora for four years before registering yourself. About six weeks ago, wasn't it?
:)
- By thedark [gb] Date 07.04.05 19:52 UTC
Hmmm
- By Teri Date 07.04.05 19:59 UTC
Perhaps "thedim" in a previous life ;)
- By ana_x [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:16 UTC
Maybe she had a different name? I used to be on this forum ages ago aswell, but I left about a year ago.. can't remember why, but I think it might've been because of all the arguements.. Starting to wonder if I should've joined again or not!!

Yes, I did think thedark was a bit out.. It's one thing saying about putting your own dogs to sleep, but saying about putting all the crossbreeds in the world is another!
- By thedark [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:17 UTC
I did re-think that one, spaying anything crossed was my re-submitted thought.
- By Teri Date 07.04.05 23:22 UTC
Hi JeanGenie et al,
I've noticed that "thedark" having been off forum for a couple of weeks seems to have returned with a ghost writer employed :)  A totally different style of writing, phrasing, vocabulary, distinct differences in grammar, spelling, punctuation, colloquialisms, etc    Plus all those early pm's sent by "thedark" to pour oil on troubled waters (often when there wasn't even a ripple  ) because she abhorred public arguments - at the time a seemingly commendable trait.
Now the poster under this ID has made a total turn around not only in their one time simplistic attitude and occasionally fundamentally flawed advice on dog related threads but by intentionally instigating argumentative topics and blatant antagonism to anyone averse to his/her "off the wall" notions re animal husbandry :)   Indeed almost switching by the minute (perhaps more of a split personality than a ghost writer :D ) as yesterday the dark stated having never claimed to be an animal lover and would happily see the majority euthanised while today we are to believe sentimental enough to wish his/her ashes scattered with the dogs   Doesn't really add up to me folks, Teri :P
- By Teri Date 07.04.05 20:00 UTC
:D  JG  :D
- By thedark [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:14 UTC
And so it begins....

Wheres the third? We need a third witch for it to be true to the tale!!!
- By Tigerlily [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:21 UTC
I think you too can be very harsh and abrupt at times too thedark. Everyone at some time or another have a difference of opinion but too be completely honest Jeangenie gives out alot of good, sound advice, may not be what the poster wants to hear, but usually it is the truth. The same can not be said for you thedark, can it? This is only my opinion from reading the posts on here over the last few weeks. There are ways and means of saying things, and you should think before you type.
- By thedark [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:24 UTC
You mean in the same way the other think before they type?

There shoould be a rants board so we could all read back at who has been aggrieved by some member or other. I know who the top 5 would be over the last 2 years....
- By Tigerlily [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:33 UTC
In some ways I totally agree with you, but you are very blunt when it comes to your opinions. You are asking for trouble when you try force your beliefs onto other people when they are only asking for advice. You are not alone in this, but I feel Jeangenie has good advice which is very usefull to people who are looking for answers. It is better to help if you can or ignore the post if you disagree. You are scaring people away who could genuinely need/benefit from your knowledge.
- By thedark [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:36 UTC
Bluntness seems to be the order of the day here.... "like it or lump it" was one persons reaction to a similar statement to your own.

I did not expect anyone to take on my ideas as their own, nor did i ask them to. People took it upon themselves to launch an attack rather than ignore my post. Why try to beat them when you can join them?
- By LJS Date 07.04.05 20:44 UTC
Hi

What do you do for a living just out of interest and what dogs do you own ? :)

Lucy
xx
- By Tigerlily [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:47 UTC
I would rather not join them, I will only offer advice if I feel I can help, if not I will leave alone for someone else to offer help. This is just me, and from reading posts for a long time before joining I have seen things from a different view.
- By Tigerlily [gb] Date 07.04.05 20:47 UTC
Hi Lucy, are you talking to me or thedark?
- By sarstaff [gb] Date 07.04.05 21:37 UTC
The Dark

When you said' do not air your ideas or opinions on here''

But thats what we are all doing, airing our own thoughts and opinions  it's just that we cant all agree with you ( or each other) all of the time.

Seemed a childish thing to say really.
