I have a 2 year old golden and noticed him slaverng yesterday.Something he never normally does.On inspecting his mouth he has broken the end off his large tooth at the top on the left hand side.Havent a clue how he has done this and it dosent seem to be bothering him apart from the slavering. Will this sort itself out or will it need specialist attention.Would appreciate any advice.
Thanks

Angela

Once the tooth has smoothed down he will stop. My oldest has broken all his canines and some of the incisors because he does insist on chewing bricks.

Angela, I'd take him to the vet. If the tooth is broken, not just worn down, and the root is still in his jaw, he could get an apical abscess, especially if the dentin is exposed or the fracture goes into the pulp cavity.
