my 10 month old yorky who was housr trained has started weeing at door ways my other yorkie is 11 and doctored and no other dogs have been in the house dont want to doctor if avoidable please help

Is the offending dog male or female?  When washing down after an 'accident' I always advise using a solution of bio washing powder and then a spray over with surgical spirit or white wine vinegar as this breaks down the fatty acids which hold the scent and encourage the dog to remark the same spot.  Do NOT use household cleaners which turn white in water, as these contain ammonia which is chemically similar to urine and will encourage the dog to remark.

If the dog is in fact a bitch, then she may be coming into season........

I'd go along with the suggestion not to use an ammonia based cleaner.  Here in the US there's a product called "Pet-Tastic" (it used to be called Nature's Miracle, but they sold the name [but not the formula]).  It uses enzymes to break down the urine so that the odor is changed completely and the dog isn't drawn back to it. 

I don't know if that product is available in the UK but if it is, I'd use it. 

this is a male dog but is this normal when there are no other male dogs in tack in the house?

It's worth remembering that castrated dogs have been known to scent-mark too - have you witnessed the dog doing this, so you're certain which one it is? There may be a bitch in season in the vicinity, causing the problem.

Just as an aside, I was glancing at Kim and Aggie's cleaning book, and in the section on keeping pets and house clean, they mention cleaning the marked area with AMMONIA based cleaner! :(

I keep meaning to write to them about it, must do it...

Not ideal, but certainly not unsusual.  My male doberman marked a few times before he was castrated, when he was around the 7-8 month mark - at the time it was only him and a 6yr old spayed female dog in the house.  It's a territory thing.
I would recommend getting him neutered before it gets worse - it worked for my boy - if it turns into a real habit, then even neutering may not stop it.

incidentally, where do the two dogs sleep?  I read a behaviourist's case once where two male fox terriers were sleeping the kitchen and peeing up the frame of the closed door; the owner's two bull terriers slept in the front room.  The behaviourist observed interactions and determined that the foxies were top dogs, and recommended switching the sleeping arrangements, so the foxies were in what they saw as the central, secure part of the territory (I supopse, equivalent to the den for the alpha breeding pair) and the bulls were in the kitchen, the outer part of the territory.  Apparently the peeing stopped immediately.  Just a thought.
