I've had a bad neck for a while and haven't been able to get a good nights sleep for ages.  I've been through all the pillows in the house and can't find one or a combination to suit.  Someone gave me a link to an orthopaedic website where they had been recommended by their physio to get a special neck pillow called a Harley Designer Neck Care Pillow.  The cost of one of these was £45.  Although that's probably a small price to pay for decent sleep I thought I would do some investigation before buying.

I've found lots of adverts for these pillows including one for a Tempur Memory Foam pillow which is even more expensive.  They are so different from traditional pillows I bought a 'cheap' Memory Foam pillow from Argos to see if I could get on with it.  Well I can and it supports my neck really well but it's very hard and has the memory of a goldfish.

Does anyone have any experience of these?  I would love to find someone who uses one to get some personal recommendations. I don't mind paying that sort of money if it really does the job.

I too have a neck problem and use an orthopedic pillow.  It was about £30 and well worth the money.,  However, the details of it are at work, so I'll let you know tomorrow the contact details.  I highly recommend it - it's sprung, like a mattress, which makes you think it would me hard, but it's not - it's totally fab.  I'll let you know tomorrow evening.

Val is yours 'egg box' style inside?  How long did it take you to get used to it?

Vicki I'm amused by your post!  Do you always keep details of pillows at work?!!!!!!?? :-)

No.  It's solid foam with a "core" each side, one high and one lower.  It felt very uncomfortable as I ried to sleep the first night, but I slept like a log and didn't think about it the second night.  I also take a smaller version of the same thing when I'm away - even to Kenya!!  When I forgot it in the early days, I'd get up with dreadful neck pain.
It's a good price on ebay - they're usually over £40 and nearly £60 if you buy from expensive shops!

Hi Jackyjat - hee hee, no, but the details of the pillow I have came from another back sufferer at work via office e-mail - then I ordered it whilst at work, so no details at home at all, and too old a doddery to remember......having a C.R.A.F.T moment......

Tell you what else are wonderful to sleep on  Feather beds cost about £100 or more , thought they might be uncomfortable and move but they dont you sink into bed and sleep like a babe .
Only dis-advantage you have to make the whole bed every morning and give it a good shake but well worth the trouble.

Re my earlier post, I looked everywhere at work for the details of the pillow I have, all to no avail - sorry :(.  Only thing I CAN do is recommend the ones that are actually "sprung" rather than foam filled.
