hi are white patches on a bullmastiff pup o.k he is 13 weeks he has a small white patch on his chest a little tiny one under his chin and like a pale nearly white ring round his tail he is red so you can see it but its not bright white if you no what i mean, does it mean he cant be shown if they are not meant to have white bits thanks

According to Breed Standard a slight white marking on the chest is permissible, while other white markings are undesirable. Did you buy him as show potential or purely as a pet? Either way, he's very young yet - wait till he's four or five months old and see how he looks then.

i bought him as a pet but thought i might have a go at showing but if he isnt good enough im not really bothered he is a pet first

As long as he is KC reg go along to ringcraft and do some training.Once he is 6 months then try some open shows and see how he gets on.If he does well you can progress from there.
As long as he is KC reg you can show him even if he has 2 heads and 3 legs....so theres nothing stopping you.

I'm sure that 20 years ago when I started showing the dog I showed wasn't the best in the breed, but I enjoyed my days out and meeting people who loved their dogs as much as I did mine.

I wdn't enter Champ. shows but have a go at the smaller shows they are fun and you never know you may catch the bug and end up buying a show quality one in another 2-3 years time :d

how do you find out about the smaller shows

Find out where your nearest ringcraft class is, Dawn.    There you can learn how to take your pup round the ring, how to stand or stack it, and he will get used to it all!   They will also know all the local shows and will have the entry forms etc.   Your pup is KC registered, isn't he?   I think you have said that he is.

Good luck
