Anyone seen in the dog paper. Crufts is going to be held at the Millenuim Dome next year and not at the NEC :( There will be a shortage of car parking apparantly, so public transport will have to be used

What do others think of this decision. I for one don't think a lot of it. Even if I was to qualify one of my dogs, I don' think I will be going now. Not with thse arrangements.

Margot

Me too - I would have loved to see it move there :D :D
Someone on another board I am on, said she has heard from ' a reliable source' that they are seriously looking at Excel, so perhaps there is still hope ;)

Doubt it - NEC has to be booked YEARS in advance, and is the only centrally situated venue big enough.

I do hope not Birmingham at least is realatively central even if its still over 3 hours drive for us. Moving it south only makes the pastime more exclusive we have few enough chances to enjoy or hobbie without making it more difficult.:(

This years catalogue shows the dates at the NEC for 2007, so no need to worry just yet ;)

It was quite funny especially as it said that dogs would be ferried to the dome by water taxi or on double decker buses - and then the give away at the end was that the date was to be moved to 1st April 2006. Quite convincing for a moment.
I would hope that it's not down south, that wd. be so unfair for the people travelling from Scotland etc.
I think that Birmingham is great, it's central and only takes just under 3 hours to get there. If it was in the South I would be at least doubling that and I know that I for one wouldn't bother going. Though there again why am I complaining I can't even show my dogs there :d
