Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Tracking down a breeder

We have just got a rescue Black Lab called Tyke. He came with his papers and the breeder is named as an A Bearsdworth. I assume they must be Northwest based if not actually on the Fylde, but can't be sure. I have made that assumption as the dog is registered as 'Black Night of Blackpool'.

Any information as to how to contact the breeder would be very much apreciated as I would like to have a chat about Tykes parents as regard hip scores etc..

Thank you,

Simon Johnson

If he hasn't been transfered then his breeders address should be on the registration form.

His registered name suggests that he was not bred by a serious breeder as there is no affix (kennel name like a surname that identifies all teh pups bred by a breeder).  Breeders pay the Kennel club yearly to maintain an affix as they are proud of their breeding.

One off Pet breeders, and most puppy farmers would not bother with this expense, and actually most don't want their breeding easily traced byt it's name alone.

You may find that if your breeder is one of the above they are unlikely to ahve done health tests, though there are exceptions of course, just don't be disappointed if the breeder is not interested or lacks knowledge. :D

Good Luck

With the name Black Night of Blackpool, I wouldn't mind betting that he is registered with DLRC !

I did wonder, then maybe they don't give the breeders address like KC registraion papers?
