I have recently found out that a bitch has been repeatedly bred from on three successive seasons.  From the first litter - 3 bitches were kept and all three have been shown although never all three at the same show.

As far as I'm aware, no pups were kept from the second litter - although it appears one was returned for poor temperament which was then resold.

The third litter has just been sold.

I believe each mating was with the same sire and dam.

Each pup has been sold for £900.

From reading other threads - it appears the KC would not penalise this as obviously the three litters have been spread over approximately 18mths.

I am desperately upset and angry at what this person is doing to this poor bitch yet feel helpless to act upon this information as no official body appears to regulate breeding limits - apart from the breed club of which this person is not a member.

Local Council limits the breeding to five litters each year or less - although I am also aware at least three other breeds of dog are kept at this establishment and this person is a registered breeder.

Can anyone offer any constructive advice as to how this matter might be best handled?  Or should I just turn away and seethe quietly?

I don't consider myself a vindictive person but I don't think I can type what I'd like to do to the owner of this poor bitch.

Unfortunately there's nothing at all that can be done, annoyingly.  People wil still buy off them and use their dogs though.  I just don't understand why people do this myself.  My nearly 5 year old Spanish has only had two litters and my other one who will be 5 in August has only had one.  Why people need to do this especially in long living breeds is beyond me, but it happens and there's nothing that can be done about it.
