hello I am wantig to stud my pom dog out.would like to know the cost has a good pedigree.no kc..wel he would have in breeder would pass it to us..sitting in kc with name we gave..now they say we did not pay.2 years down the line..only just had the decent pedigree, still trying to settel it..but she now asking another 300 odd pounds as wel as the 400 we paid 2 years ago..so stubourn.been delt with though.
but he has a five year gen pedigree..with 6 champions.
would any one get in touch if you have a dam to mate, i have pics of him.
H Guest I cannot think you would get many enquires without your boy being KC Reg to be quite honest .

Read the first post on the 'Breeding' forum of this site. But if he's not KC registered you'd be best advised to forget it - you won't get any enquiries from reputable breeders - only those wanting to use their bitches as money-making puppy-producers.

6 champions isn't that many in a 5 gen pedigree - and I'll be happy to bet they're mainly on the male side..... Is it really worth if for the possible change in temperament? :(

There are 62 ancestors in a 5 generation pedigree, so six is very few champions, less than 10%.
Just had a quick look at my youngest two's pedigrees. The youngest has 52 champions in her pedigree, and both her parents are champions, yet I would not consider her sister of above average quality. Her Mum has 37 champions in her pedigree.

My boys have only got 21 Champions in theirs. :(

Ah but the youngster has got an American sire, and they have higher percentage of their dogs made up, as it isn't as difficult as here. :D Mum is more representative being UK and Norwegian breeding.

Ooh, I've just counted - there's 11 on the sire's side and 10 on the dam's. So pretty evenly balanced.

I have wanted to ask this question for ages :) Just had a look at Tara's pedigree - she has 34 champions - 17 on each side. However, I realise that the number of champions may depend on the breed and perhaps on the numbers in the breed ?? Anybody know ?
Thanks
Daisy
Have just re-read you message, Brainless and it would partly explain Tara's as there are no champions for the Aussie in the UK (although both her parents are Irish champions) and so the other champions must all be in the US.

In Most reasonably bred dogs I would expect many more than 6 champions on a 5 gen pedigree...prob 20+.
He has obviously come from a dubious source and hence I would not consider breeding from him....without registration no reputable breeder would even dream of using him

If they've done you with the KC papers I wouldn't be so sure that the pedigree is true! I have Pomeranian's but I have to say that I wd. never use a none KC registered dog. They're not easy to stud either, my Mel has only mated twice and we've only ended up with two pups and he's now 7. Hopefully the pup that we have from his last litter will do well though, if we can calm the horror down, unfortunately she thinks that she's a Spanish Water Dog and jumps over things, retrieves etc. :d
Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear but I would just keep him for the wonderful pet that he is and not go into the hard work that using a stud can be.

Cant understand why you want to put your dog to stud From reading your message I understand he is a pet Do you understand that it could change him Why spoil him .If you are wanting to make money out of him dont bother it makes me angry to think people will try to do this If you love him and dont want to spoil him leave him
If you are doing this to get a new puppy why dont you buy one from a very good breeder
I am sorry if I have upset you did not mean to Paige

Based on the information you have provided you ask " how much"
£50 that is about the going rate I guess for a unregistered, unshown pet dog and that is if anyone wants to use him.
It is just not cout and dry like that
SORRY
The dog was sold as a pet only so she is going against the breeders wishes by doing this. That is why she has no papers.
