Hi does any body know where i can see any pics of long coated rotties?? I think my boy who is 8 weeks old might be one but the breeder says she doesnt think so because sometimes you can get quite fluffy curly coated puppys and then they end up normal coat?? Can anyone help?? I dont mind if he is long coat as he is absolutely adorable but it would be nice to see some pics of any others, thank you so much,
Kellyxx.
His coat will probably change has he gets older, they do seem a bit fluffy when there young and he is only eight weeks, someone else will be on soon and will be able to give you some advice on pics
Hi Kelly
Rottie pups do often have a fluffy coat and you can also get some that seem to be a big crimpled in a way but 9 times out of 10 when the adult coats comes through they have a nice dense short coat, some Rotties have a shorter coat than others. My bitch has 'trousers' and so does a bitch of a friend of mine and you often see this when at shows, some have virtually nothing like my dog as his coat is quite dense and short. Also they do at times have a kink to their coat, often on the back but again this does not mean they are long coats. If you would like to chat some more please email me at kellyagooden@hotmail.com, I would love to see a pic of your pup :)

Just had a vision of your dog in bootcut trouser with pink flowers on.
Sorry, it is Friday.
Ha ha LOL, its better than bloomers which is what my dad calls his Leonberger's - bless her she probably would suit a nice big pink frilly pair of knickers :)
BTW - Thank god it is Friday.....yippee!

Sorry, I can't help with pictures, but a friend of mine used to own a long coated bitch (and a dog from the same litter who had a 'normal' coat). They were both lovely - the bitches coat was finer and wavy - a bit like a Border Collie. Luckily she realised the coat was a fault, and had no intentions of breeding from her (she had poor hips and elbows as well :( ) but temperament wise, you couldn't fault her or her brother........
rotties are not specified into groups of long or short coated, some coats are just thicker than others. my bitch is thick coated and both my studs are short coated. there really is no terminolagy for long or short coated. i find that pups have thicker coats until their first summer or warm season, sometimes it goes away, or sometimes, like the case of my bitch, it stays thick and kind of has waves or small cowlick like curles in it.
