Hi, We was wondering if you or know anyone who would consider housing a beautiful Rough Collie for a week in August?.  I we are contacting local breeders in hope and desperation! We would idealy like to leave him with another collie lover - and it means a treat for him to be surrounded by his own kind!  Taylor is just over a year old and is a sable and white collie. We brought him from a breeder who was based in Sussex - She has sinced moved to Lincolnshire and thats a bit far to travel for our litte Taylor.

This maybe a stupid question but why don't you look for good Boarding kennels? 

Perhaps they don't like boarding kennels? I don't use them.

Why not try a House Sitter OP?

But it doesn't always follow that the dog will be looked after any better than kennels in someone's home. I'd never leave my two with a stranger (or even a friend) - my kennels are excellent and I feel quite happy leaving them there :)

Very true. I should mention I don't use kennels or home sitters or anything else - I'm not allowed to go away. Willis pines and won't eat and goes all depressed  :D

Willis would DIE if he had to go to kennels. He's such a sensitive puppy. He lies by the front door and won't move when I go away with work (never more than a night) and then does the Dance of the Deserted Dog when I get home - usually sending me flying. Jon has to pin him down whilst I get in and say hello to the kids and brace myself against the wall in preparation :D :D

Bramble is very similar with my hubby, particularly having GSD in him and also being a rescue dog. However, he is no bother in kennels and is much better with people there, than he is when we are with him. Fortunately, the lady who runs the kennels, runs our training classes and so knows him well - so I get the truth :)
