I have entered my daughter with my spotties at bath for Junior Handling but she has since got beagle pup who she would prefer to handle.  Can she handle either dog or do I have to enter them again.  I have tried emailing and ringing  the secretary at bath but got no reply to either!  Any help appreciated.

She can take any dog in the handling class as long as it is entered in the show on the same day. Sometimes as courtesy, nice to just let steward know of change of dog..some shows actually put dog breed by handlers name so at least you can explain.

You daughter can change from spotties as long as your beagle is also entered in a breed class. When showing in breed you will have a number given to you which you will keep for junior handling and if your spottie was 231 for example and your beagle was 725 you will need to tell the steward in the junior handling ring that your number has change from 231 to 725 But you only need to do this if you aren't showing your spots. All in all make sure that you have the right number for the junior handling.

NONNONONONONONONOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sarah NONONONONONOOOOOOOOOO

Argh whatever happens, if you take in another dog (which you can do) always wear the number you are enterd in with!!!!!!!!!  Please please ALWAYS stick to the number you are enterd under!!!!!

The reason behind this is many.  One it is in the catalouge, it confuses other people ringside and also remember the number is prited into the judges book aswell.  keep the number you are enterd with otherwise the numbers not in the judges book and a number not in the catalouge thats sent to KC is wrong, the slip to secretary has a number not in catalouge so throws it all off. NEVER CHANGE YOUR NUMBER!!!

This also has messed up both my dads and my judging books when we right down numbers without looking, go home, start writing critiques and don't know who we put where!!!!

Sorry if it sounds harsh what I wrote above but it REALLY annoys me when handlers wear a number they are not enterd with.

But by all means take a different dog :)  As long as the dog is also enterd at the show on the day.  Many times I ask friends to enter me, my brother and now my friend in handling and we'll all find other dogs :)

Well in the junior handling today i was told to keep the wrong number by the steward and that he would cange it in his book. I know what you mean and i know that you are right but the stweard was wrong

Argh Stewards are sooo stupid.  It's easier if you take the number your enterd with, they rarely will question change of dog (or rarely no)

Many times I have taken different dogs in that I'm not enterd with for one reason or another (today I acctully handled the dog I was enterd with) but my dad and brother didn't!

She can handle what ever dog she wants for junior handling as far as I know, I have done it before!

ice queen remember that with out stewards there would be no shows for any one to go to. i used to give up a lot of my time stewarding horse shows all day on your feet,in rain, wind & cold ,it was always nice when we got thanks from people after a long hard day, we do it for the love of the sport whatever it is,
when people call you stupid you wonder to yourself, why bother, remember people give ther time freely and deserve, your thanks, i an sure you do not mean to be rude, just give a little thougth for your stewards,
