Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Discharge at 5 months....

Hi All,

I have a 5 month old Boxer Bitch, and I noticed a week ago she had a lot of discharge, so I took her to the vets, and she had some tablets to try and clear it up. But it hasn't worked. The vet did say she has a hormone problem and we will have to wait for her to have 2 seasons before we have her done, but in the mean time its driving her mad.

Has anyone else had this? If so please could you tell me what you did to help them.

Many thanks

I have had this very same thing with all my bitches. (I have 4 now).  The discharge is completely normal (as long as it isnt smelly) and will go away after her first season.  The tablets dont work.  It is the hormones getting ready for the first season.  Just leave her alone and she will be fine.

I agree, I have had this in my 2 Belgian pups. I was worried and did take both to the vet just in case, but was told it was perfectly normal. As long as it isn't smelly, as Weims has said, don't worry :)
