Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Exporting to Japan

Hello!

I`m just researching for a friend who is very interested in owning a Norfolk Terrier. He has looked for a breeder in Japan and not found one. So I am looking for information, first to see if anyone would be willing to sell, and second, about all the costs and procedures involved.

Hope someone can help. Thanks a lot.

Obviously there are some very caring dog people in Japan.

You do have to be extremely careful , though, about exporting, and particularly to the Far East.    Dogs tend to be short -term status symbols, who can just as readily be turned onto the streets or worse.   Generally the way in which dogs are regarded is not the same as over here.

Not saying that this is the case with this enquiry, but a general caveat.

Martin Phillips of the Jaeva kennels has FCR and Norfolks I know he has contacts in Japan, as I saw he has exported some of his norfolks. You could ask him about it Jo.
