Sorry, I know it's an extremely important subject, but do all the news programmes on both TV and radio have to keep on and on and on about this? I'm getting to the point when if I hear any more news items on the subject I shall be like Violet Elizabeth - anyone who knows what I mean is really giving their age away! :-)

probably if it concerned us and we had children of school age then it would be a topic of conversation.
In my eyes its a voting ploy because of the forthcoming election they would have done better if they had sorted this out years ago.

It's a way of showing how quickly weather-vane ministers can move when there's adverse publicity. It was months ago that JO brought this to Charles Clarke's notice, and nothing at all happened. Get it on TV, and suddenly there's panic in Whitehall ...!
