Grrrrrrr! that feels better! i posted on here a while ago about my weim biting when we are out walking on the roads. was getting better until 5 mins ago!! we had nice walk then play in park then 2 mins from house she started the biting! Someone stopped to tell her how lovely she was, as soon as they walked away she started jumping at me and biting my arms. Tried getting her to sit (which normally calms her) but no luck. She seems to snap out of it as soon as she starts! its definately people walking past or talking to us which starts her, but she is fine in the woods and off lead! I think its partly our fault because we dont do much road walking. We tend to walk her in the woods, country parks, fields etc because she enjoys it so much more! As well as it hurting its so embarrassing because every1 who walks/drives by stops to look at the crazy dog attacking its owner!
Why do people start her off?!

ahhh finally someone who has had the same prob as me!
my staffie used to jump up and bite my arms on EVERY walk! which was very embarrassing walkin past people when i have a dog attatched to my arm growling!
anyway, she doesnt do it anymore... im not sure how i got over it actually. I think by not letting her get to my clothing by keeping her away with my leg and ignoring her was what worked. she eventually gave up trying. she still does occasionaly try for it, but as soon as i lift up my knee she stops. Try doing that, cos id tried everything inc toys, treats, getting her to sit to no avail!!!
i realise a weim is bigger than a staffie, but it might work, jus try keep her distance with use of ur leg (dont kick!!) and say NO! and then carry on walking. I found usually if the walk is getting boring she tries to initiate play by biting my sleeves. If ur dog does this at home to get attention dont allow him to anymore. I usually walk my dog offlead up the common now with a frisby so shes not bored, but i try to make the onlead walks a bit more interesting by changing speeds and going to diff places.

My 21 mt old used to do this while lead walking I was told by the trainer to make her down and sit and when passing people to say look and hold a treat near to my eye to get her attention it worked brilliantly I made her work so much while out walking she forgot about biting me or the lead.
Roni
Hi Weezie!
Never fear Ronnie does this as well, he tried to get hold off my sleeves to get me to play with him.
The best line of defence I have found is to lift my knee when he jumps up and to tell him no, then try and distract him with something else!
