One dog I sold years ago gets a noisy rumbley tummy from time to time (very common in my breed), and then of course he won't eat until he feels better.  It has happened since puppyhood and he is now a very fit and lively 9 year-old.  A couple of spoons of gripe water always sorts this out within half an hour or so.  However, gripe water only has a shelf life of about 4 - 6 weeks once opened and the owner has asked me if he can have Gaviscon tablets instead, as tablets obviously have a much longer shelf life.

I don't see any reason why not, but I wonder if anyone else has used them.
