hi i was reading your debate about labradoodles?? and i saw that people were saying that you do have a bread of dog that you really have a soft spot for. i really like german shorthaired pointers and when i see one my heart melts. we are soon to get a puppy but not of this bread we are getting a small dog to fit in with our life style. i would of loved to get a gsp but i know too well their ways, constant chewing of everything? that blur in the distance when on walks, howling when left, our 10yr old gsp never calmed down she was always bounding about right to the end and she had a lovely personality and thats what i loved, but she was really hard work for the first 2yrs.although i like the cavi's i can't help thinking that maybe i really need a gsp as this is like you said, "my bread"?

michelled :d :d  I don't like bread, but yes there are many breeds that I adore but couldn't have.  I'll just have to stick to Spanish Water Dogs I think for the rest of my life, as I totally and utterly adore them, but they are definitely not for everybody!

Yeah, fell in love with them 13 years ago with a group of friends in Spain thought maybe in a year or two would bring some over, 2 months later, back in Spain importing 2, then 2 months after that another 2.  My girl was in the second group of dogs imported, one of the best dogs I've ever had.  Totally affectionate and love their owners as if there's nothing else in the world.

Yep, they can be hard work but the good times by far outweigh the bad :d

I love my red and whites and I love my aussies, but tollers where love at first sight.  First time I ever saw one, I handled it, sinse then I've wanted one!  One day I WILL own my toller, but right now I couldn't get one.

My family had lots of breeds.   Yorkies, great danes, cocker spaniels, poodles, jack russells, mutts, westies to name but a few.  The breed that is the best for me is the dallies.  They are on my wavelength and are so perfect in every sense I could never imagine my life without them.  The beagle is now coming a very close second but obviously this is early days so dont want to shout too soon ;)
