
It's fascinating, isn't it? We pretty much always know what colours will be possible from a mating, but of course cant guarantee which will arrive! Am mating a parti ( black & white) bitch later this year to a Chocolate dog who is hybrid parti/solid bred. From that particualr combination we could get Black & white, Tricolour, red and white, chocolate & white, black, black & tan and chocolate! Of course there is a chance some will be mismarked, but it will be an interesting litter to deliver :) My old Black & White dog was a "dominant black" and when we did hybrid matings regardless of colour of bitch we got blacks and a small porportion of Bl;ack & Tans, with quite a number of mismarks. To partis he produced Black & White and Tricolour, however, the grandchildren include Buffs and Red & White, when we put these colours back into the mix for the next generation.
