Does anybody know how the results of this test (in particular the blood velocity measurement) are affected by how relaxed a dog is or not during the procedure? Also if dogs who are retested have the same results or different. I know boxers and newfoundlands are recommended to have this test before being bred from but may be other breeds too.

Can only answer for the human version, yes it very much matters how relaxed one is, the position, the light and how experienced the person doing it is Love Sonja

what sonia has said  applies to dogs as well . i have had my bull terrier heart tested using doppler method. they love all the fuss, so i had no probs with stress/excitement/noise.
