I've recently joined the committee of a local canine club as they were looking for a gundog person. They asked me I'm wondering if there is anyway I can get a list of gundog judges possibly including what breeds they can judge. Or do I just have to call each individual breed club to get their list? I think I should be able to get one from my breeder but thought I would make the effort to do some research first. I'm sure the club will have a list but goodness knows if it's up to date.

You might start with the Breed Councils for the relevant breeds (if the gundog breeds have them) as they should hold a list covering their specific breeds

Hi Claire,Usually when looking for a judge Breed clubs will send you a list and it will indicate other breeds the people have judged,you also need to invite someone you think may attract a decent entry for your show :)
IE not someone who is judging everywhere.I have an up to date secretarys handbook which covers most breed clubs if you need help.

That's very kind of you Mattie, I wouldn't want to put you to too much bother but I'll shout if I'm stuck. What's this handbook then, would it be useful if I got one? I thought the KC might have had a list of all Gundog Judges but it looks like I just call up the Breed Clubs individually.

hi its the kennel club year book ring 08706066750 it has snippits of info in including breed club secretarys and rules and regulations its quite handy to have I have it because Im a breed advisor but find it usefull for other enquiries,people ring and say I know you have labs but can you tell me about yorkies LOL :)

Could I have one as well please, or could you give me info of how to get one.

We are always getting Terrier Judges over here to Judge our Open Shows and it would be really nice to have a list of Gundog People.

They will need to be able to Judge Hounds and Terriers as well though, would this handbook have all these details.
