We're going on holiday to Devon in two weeks' time at a cottage booked through a company called Helpful Holidays and their website allows you to search for properties in the West Country (Devon, Dorset and Cornwall) by requirements, such as pets allowed, near a train station (mind you, they mean within 5 miles so I suppose you'd have to get a taxi in some cases), near a beach, with good views, suitable for disabled, etc. I found their website better than many others I looked at as it shows lots of photos of the interiors and gives very detailed descriptions of the properties. We haven't been yet so can't comment on the accommodation but customer service for booking has been excellent. It does cost extra for dogs at almost all the properties that take them but I think it's hard to find places these days where there's no extra charge. We're having to pay £17.50 extra per dog (we have two), which I thought was a bit steep but the cottage is in the middle of Dartmoor in a tiny village so I'm willing to pay it for the location we wanted. All the properties are privately owned and Helpful Holidays is the agency who acts on their behalf. There is a bungalow in their brochure in Par (600 yards from beach, 500 yards from railway station) that would suit all your requirements I think, except it's fully booked for June so you'd have go another time or book well in advance for next year. The company might be able to help you if you rang them up and described your particular requirements, eg they might know of owners who would be willing to pick you up from a station etc.
Regarding trains, there's a website called totaltravel dot co dot uk where if you go to West Country, then click on Far South West, then under heading Transport Info, click on trains and you'll find lots of info on the mainline stations, then click on Train Stations, then 'Devon and Cornwall partnerships' to find info on the branch lines.
Good luck - hope you find somewhere. It must be a nightmare trying to carry everything you need for yourselves and dogs on a train.

Thanks for your help, we have now moved a bit and are still trying st ives and now also Tenby, we found EVERYTHING we wanted on one place in Tenby then they said they dont take dogs, oh well back to the drawing board, yes it is difficult carrying everything we went to Ireland year before last but had a bit of help, but that was literally Murder, thanks again.
