I went to see my friends litter and I noticed that some of the litter looked blue around the edge.  The pupils are black but they have a blue hue around the pupil.  They are liver but I cant remember if they are like this then turn!  There was only one dark eyed one and that was very heavily marked.  I am not very experienced with liver eye colour and have only had one blue eye which was not very noticable until 4 weeks.  Hopefully JG will have the answer from her usual font of all knowledge although all opinions very gratefully recieved.

Most puppies I think have blueish eyes when very young - even black Dobermanns

My red and white collie had very blue eyes as a young pup, they did go brown eventually.  It might be more apparent in reds or livers.  Can't remember whether my black Dalmatian had blue eyes when I first saw him.  He didn't at 8 weeks when I picked him up.

How old are they? When the eyes first open they often look dark greyish, and I've noticed that livers' eyes can look quite greenish for several weeks till the pigment starts deepening - by 7 weeks they're often looking yellowish (can be startling and quite ugly and staring) but by 12 weeks or so you can see that they're a nice amber. But I've never seen a blue-eyed pup so I don't know how blue they start out, I'm afraid. Sorry.

They are 4 weeks old.  They are not bright blue like the black on I had but neither are they brown like the other liver.  I did notice they were not fully pigmented yet either.  Oh well I shall just have to wait and see and keep my fingers crossed as guess what they like both of them. :)
