Im looking at joining the midlands border collie breed club what are the benefits of joining a breed club and is anyone else a member of any breed club and what are their experiences, are they helpful etc?

I am a member of all 4 dalmatian clubs.  Two of which have magazines sent through quite frequently the other two I am members of purely because it is the only way I can take a trophy if I win.  It also means I can advertise my pups on the clubs puppy list and this means a better class of buyer - usually!  We also have our own forum on one of the clubs site which is only for members not to mention being able to put my own website on there.  I can also get help if needed from other members  although they do help members who are not club members as well. So generally speaking yes I think it is well worth being a member of two of them at least. :)

I'm a member of the parent club of my breed, and yes, there are many advantages. I have, in total, many hundreds of years of experience at my fingertips - I only have to ask and someone is likely to know the answer.

Same here, I am a member of the parent club of my breed and also the breed club of Scotland. On the rare occassions I have needed their assistance it has been excellent.  Recently I needed advice, My telephone call was returned within a hour from the person who was most able to help.  As Jeangeanie has said, you have a wealth of knowledge and experience at your disposal. :)

I've been a member of our only breed club for years & years and wouldn't dream of not being but I have to say, you don't have to be a member to  receive help . I've also joined a few others, either because I've had one of that breed or been thinking of buying one. I'd say ask around because a few Clubs I've joined I haven't received a single thing from. One Club I joined, specifically because I kept missing their show schedules - and I never got anything, not even a schedule (no wonder their show entries are always so abysmal!!) Don't know anything about the BC Clubs, but I'd advise anyone to make a few enquiries as to what to expect for their money.
