Hi,
I am currently looking for a Golden Retriever puppy for my girlfriend as a 40th birthday present. She adores this breed of dog and has had one previously which sadly died of cancer. It has taken her a number of years to come to terms with her (Amber(s)) death but I feel the time is now right and I would love to find her the perfect partner in a new companion. We are going on holiday on April 1st and due to return on the 16th April. I would dearly like to locate the right puppy (bitch) and be able to collect her not long after our return.

Could you please ring me with details, as my partner uses this email account and will see any correspondance that you send, I really want this to be a surprise for her.

My telephone number is 07795 467249.

Many thanks for your help.

Kind regards.
Nick (Adderley)
Address: Sandiway. Cheshire.

What does this TROL post warning mean at the top of this message?

Jaky, this message is now being put on all guest posts due to resent problems so no value judgement has been applied to any particular post :)

Thanks! Just seemed a bit strange, as a newcommer, to see that. Just made me wonder if any of the visitors posts would be taken seriously, and how they feel if genuine having seen that with their posting, thats all!

Buying somebody a pup sounds like a lovely idea, but you say this will be a surprise for her - are you 100% certain the wants another dog and is ready for it?  I havea  friend whose husband bought her a puppy as a surprise, and even though dogs are her LIFE she is struggling to deal with the new demands a puppy brings and it's not making for a good bond :(

Hi Guest
If you haven't discussed having another pup with your girlfreind can I suggest that if you want to suprise her you buy a toy one and put a tag round its neck with a message that says something along the lines of....''I am a toy for your new puppy, now lets go and find him''
If she has said she wants a pup and now is the right time please contact the breed club(listed on the G.retriever page of champdogs) and they will give you details of GOOD breeders who have completed health tests etc.

DONT DONT repeat DONT buy her a puppy without her knowledge and chosing of it. She may still love the breed, but loving and replacing the much loved long lived oldie is a decision for her to make, not you. She may feel she can never replace the lost dog, never have that breed again. At 40 she may not feel she wants the responsibility of a dog for 10 to 15 years, they are a tie and by this age us ladies may want some of our life back, especially if we have had kids!! I know........lol.......though would never be with out my dogs, but thats me. Im sure you only have the best intentions at heart for her, and I agree it does sound like a lovely gesture. But a dog is a living thing, needing 24/7 care, and really its not something that can be chosen for us, we have to chose ourselves. Another thought, is that a rep breeder wouldnt sell you a puppy anyway till till your gf had visited and spoken. And if one would, I wouldnt go there........talk to her. tell her you want to buy her a puppy if she feels ready, then have the joy of visiting bitches and litters till she finds the one she bonds with. Good Luck x
