Hello there i have a problem with my 12 wk old border terrier puppy, she is toilet trained and has been fine but today and tonight she has been acting strange.  She has wee'ed in the house 5 times tonight and the 3 times i caught her she seemed as if she didnt even know she needed it.  The first time i had taken her out for a wee and she came in and started playing for 5 minutes sat down and promptly piddled the second time again i took her out 15 minutes later and i caught her doing a wee again and later in the night i was playing with her again and she sat down and wee'ed again.  Each time she acted as if she knew she had done wrong and looked at me with her head down but i didnt really tell her off just a no and naughty as she didnt look like she meant it.  She has been acting a bit odd all day we gave her gammon for one of her dinners in the afternoon as we had left overs from a night or two back and wondered if this had anything to do with it.  I also took her for a walk but she didnt seem scared or didnt see anything she wasnt used to.  I know its probably a passing thing but can any of you shed any light as i'm a bit worried?

Thanks
Anne

it could just be shed had more water than usual, coz you know yourself wen you have gammon it makes you rearly thursty.and you tend to drink a bit more! but she is still only 12weeks old so you are bound to have acidents,if your rearly worried you could always take her the vet.coz she could have a water infection! or it could be nothing and just exitment! hope you get it sorted!

Hi, I had the same thing with my 9 week old Archie, He had slightly flaky skin so I was advised to give him some tuna in oil with his dinner.  Well, it made him really thirsty, and that night I heard him waking up a few times to drink water in his crate.  I had to take him outside to wee a couple more times than usual that night.

We decided to only give him tuna in his breakfast and lunch so he doesn't drink so much at night :)

Just remember if it carries on ring the vet as it could be something more serious... see how your pup does without the gammon :)

Hi,
Both my bitches had a touch of cystitis at around 12 wks which is really only noticable by them doing little wees more frequently. One is 21 month now and the other is 17wks .
The advice I was given by the vet for both on each seperate occasion was to leave it alone for 1 wk to see how it goes , it is quite normal  they dont like to give medication so early on and it usually clears up itself.
I'm glad to say after a day or two they were fine.

regards
roni
