please can someone tell me the names of any reputable breeders of teacup yorkies in the south west, i am desperate to buy one of these dogs for my 2 year old son he really wants a puppy

hi i think you meen miniture! teacup is the name given to the runt of the litter to make it more appealing to buyers,its just a way of making more money! i  dont know off any minis but im sure some1 on here might be able to help! :)

Firstly: There is no such recognised breed as a Teacup Yorkie. Yorkies like all other pedigree breeds have a breed standard, which specifies the correct size for that breed. Anything smaller than the standard is just a small speciman, that is not up to the standard of that breed. Likewise if it grows taller than the breed standard, it is purely oversized. Don't be misled by breeders who state they have rare 'Teacup' Whatever's for sale, as they aren't rare and they aren't recognised by the KC.
Secondly: I can't believe any reputable breeder, selling anyone a puppy just because a 2 year old wants one. You can't expect a 2 year old to know his/her own mind, let alone look after one. It always comes down to mum, so she has to want one first and formost :roll eyes:
I totally agree with what Jeangenie says. They are certainly not a tough enough breed for a small child.

Guest, no reputable breeder of 'teacup' yorkies exists, because all they are is undersized, possibly unhealthy ordinary yorkies.

Your best bet is to contact yorkie breeders and ask if they think they're likely to have any smaller-than-usual ones in a well-bred litter.

However dogs aren't suitable toys for children, and I don't think anyone will sell you a puppy for a toddler, particularly not a small, fragile breed which would easily get 'broken'. Why not buy your baby a stuffed toy till he's older?

I agree!  I wont even let my 2 yr old near my mums yorkies.

I dont agree with getting a puppy for a child.
