Right I think I have the most laid back beagle or any dog come to that in the whole world. Are they always like this? All the books make them sound like horrors and everybody who has met including other beagle owners say she is really calm. I am not complaining just curious.
I dont know much about beagles, but maybe its because you used to the dallys ?
I recently have become the proud owner of a Dogue de bordeaux, we waited a long time to get her, and i think the same thing, she is 4 months old now and sooo laid back, but after the Staffords a kangaroo would seem laid back !!
She also is quite happy to sleep outside or on the floor, you wouldnt catch the staffs any where else but the sofa !!
I wonder if this is a breed charecteristic or its just her, maybe your beagle is a one off, someone beagley will help us out soon ??
In my experience yes you have a laid back Beagle (lucky thing) LOL. Mine is only 6mths old and is in to everything, 100 times more than my other dog ever was. It is just like having a toddler in the house you can't take your eyes off her for a moment, anything for attention. But i wouldn't swap her for the world she is gorgeous.

I have an 18 month old boy beagle who is such a baby, he is very attached to me and is my constant companion, he is very laid back, although he does have his moments and runs about like a wild thing.
I find a tired beagle is a good beagle, mine loves cuddles and being with the pack and is very good with children, dogs and other people.
He loves doing "Zoomies" and has to have anything my daughter has, like a naughty younger sibling.
They are very creative and are intelligent, sometimes they have selected hearing and they chooose what they want to do, mine has been trained and knows, sit, stand, come etc but chooses when and how he will respond to a command, they can be very stubborn and headstrong and ours is highly entertaining!
Enjoy your new Beagle T t S
:) "a tired beagle is a good beagle" :). Never heard of the expression "zoomies" will have to remember that.

Lucky does like to have a few mad moments the kids make her run around the garden like a mad thing but generally she is chilled out. When she meets new people she just sits and lets them stroke her no jumping up or full blown flooring of new friends. She isnt nervous or bothered by anything just really calm. Mind you a few of my friends have said it wont be long before she is as mad as the rest of us. :) You cant live in a house with four dalmatians and remain calm !

if she has got any to spere ,throw some this way, i have the most hypo boxer god ever put on this earth.
only joking!!!!
