Ihave been thinking of ways to try and stop my boys cocking there legs in the house, well i did have an idea about putting some small pants on them when they are indoors with mebut not sure if this would be cruel, theyhave access to the garden all day but they still sneakily do it esspecialy now as one of my girls is in season im not thinking of keeping them on them all day mainly just when they are in the living room with me what do you think, any other suggestan would be welcomed.

Neuter them :)
This is one of the many reasons i would never keep an entire dog,the pants wont stop them from peeing inside as you already know,it's just putting a bandaid on the problem, not fixing it! Unless your prepared to make them wear them forever, which would be impractical and expensive.
Sorry i am assuming your dogs are entire?? If so, is there a reason why you havnt got them done?

Sorry rose having had neutered boys come to stay with me it seems to make little difference if they ahve already learnt coking behaviour. Often it isn't just sexual but done because they are lacking in confidence for reassurance making the place smell familiar. It is why I won't have any of my freinds males to stay at all. :D

Rose, I have 2 males who don't pee in the house when a bitch is in season.
amberleaf, when you clear up after the pee what do you use. You need to use a strong enough substance to get rid of he smell. By weeing, they are marking their teortory and when their girl is in season they need to tell everyone it's their house and their girl!
How do you go about telling them off?

I have 1 dog and 5 bitches........he is 2 years old and NEVER cocked his leg as of yet! But he does pee over the top where the girls pee when they are in season.........not in the house though!

Our dogs cover the bitches sent al the time (outside). Thats another marking thing kindof, "oi this is my bitches sent, ok?" You might find a dominante female will also cover another female :)

What do you use to clean up after them?
Ihave never realy had a reason to have them done they have always been realy good and they are smashing little dogs im sorry if i led you to believe this is they have been doing it all the time, so far it has only happened about three times its just that i want try and control it before it gets out of hand.
I dont have carpet in the living room so cleaning is not a huge problem for me and i have been using biolgical soap powder to clean the floor with. i think your right about the pants idea i came to the same conclushion after seeing the post i had wrote.
Sorry i foregot to say my eldest boy is nearly ten years old now, do you suppose his age may have something to do with why this has started as i have nt actualy seen which one is doing this could it be him.

If you have a solid floor it's worth wiping the area over with surgical spirit after you've cleaned with the biological washing solution. This should remove any last lingering trace of the urine.
And certainly make sure you know for certain which one's doing the weeing. If it's new behaviour it's worth getting a urine sample checked for any mild infection.

I've never had trouble with the boys peeing in the house when girls are in season - and they certainly don't do it any other time.
Different thing with cats though - never ever keep an unneutered Tom over the age of 5 months, unless it is a stud cat - Buster thinks it's just another way of saying "hi"
