I have recently used a young male on my bitch, and it has been confirmed that she is to have puppies end of April, happy news, at least I thought so. I asked both the dogs owner, and the dogs breeder for permission to use him, and both were delighted at the prospect. I mated my bitch, paid a substantial stud fee, only to find that I am now caught up in a dispute over the dog by owner and breeder.
The breeder has still go breeding restrictions on the dog, which I was not made aware of until aferwards, the breeder had every opportunity to say they did not want the dog used, and after I discovered the endorsements senario, I asked if they would be removed to allow me to register any resulting puppies, at this point I could have taken steps to ensure there would not be any puppies, now I find myself in an unhappy triangle, and am at a loss what to do next. Any advice would be gratefully recieved

Personally I dont see you can do much apart from make yourself a real pain to the breeder and hope she succumbs to pressure - unless there was a stud contract?

As Fillis or maybe talk to the KC about it! :)

Can only suggest you find out why the endorsements were put in place by the breeder, why they are refusing to remove them, and providing it is not for some over-riding reason, such as a health issue, try to negotiate between the 2 parties.  If it is just a fallinng out or misunderstanding between them, you may be able to get them to compromise.  Other than that, your real complaint is with the dogs owners, not the breeders of it, as they took yoru money without being able to fulfill their part of the contract.  Your may have a case in the small claims court or with trading standards.  however, even if you get yoru stud fee back it really does not help a whole lot with your predicament.
bye
