I understand garlic will act as a flea preventative. Can you give it in tablet form? Where can I get them ( for small dogs) ? Does it work for worms too?
Yes you can get garlic in tablet form. Dorwest Herbs sell it and I'm pretty sure you can buy it at places such as pets at home - generally a dosage guide is given on the label (usually its 1 tablet for a small dog).
I use the odourless ones from H&B too, all my dogs have them and we've never had a flea or had to use any chemicals! We have cockers and give them one each a day!
My vet finds it hard to believe, each time we visit with a dog, she combs through them with a fine comb and has never found anything in nearly 6 years.
Lol.....maybe not, but I've got 6 of them and they all sleep in one big pile, but still no fleas (thank goodness) it may also help that I don't have carpets downstairs in my house :-)
It's interesting about some dogs being attractive and others not. I always had to apply a bit of Nuvan to my Dandies feet in the summer to repel the dreaded harvest mites but my cockers have never seemed to be troubled by them either. They do get ticks sometimes though :(
I suppose it's like some people getting bitten by mosquitos while others are ignored. I tend to get eaten into a delicate lacework design - just naturally attractive to pests, I suppose! ;) :D
if you break a garlic capsuel, drip it onto a piece of cottonwool ,then wipe inside of ears its very good for keeping them clean.. if you don`t mind the smell
