I was told by a breeder that when purchasing a yorkie puppy to find one with a white patch on its chest.  This is to signify that they will have a beautiful coat.  Is that true?  If not is their any markings that will be an indication of a good coat?  They all start out the same color it is hard to tell...Thanks...

Dont know anything about Yorkies, but cant for the life of me think how the white patch could have anything to do with coat texture etc.

I thought the breed standard said the hair on the chest should be a rich dark tan.......  I also don't think that genetically white spots on the chest can have anything to do with coat texture.....

i do not agree what your breeder has told it is  definitly not true although the white will dissapear in time
i was wondering did you see both the parents what were there coats like
it sounds like you have already purchased your yorkie
if you are looking for a quality yorkie you would be better off contacting yt breed club and speak to mrs evans that could put you in touch with a reptible breeder . although people who show there yorkies charge about £600  £700

I didn't purchase that yorkie.  It seemed to me like a she was trying to give me a story to get rid of the little male she had, but I was not looking for a male.  Thanks for the information on the breeder I am looking for a female that will be of show quality.  So if any one knows of a reputable breeder that tries to make sure their puppies met the standard I would appreciate it.
