yeah they can get trouble with there hips, eyes and skin problems someone with alot more knowledge will be on shortly.  hope this helps a bit frank.

I am in no way trying to put you off, because they are a fantastic breed to own, but i can't stress to you enough how important it is to buy a pup off hip scored parents, PLEASE PLEASE, these are huge dogs and have to carry lots of weight. The hips are a huge fault in this breed, also make sure the parents do not have any skin problems as they do also suffer from bad skin. The vet bills for these dogs when they are poorly is massive. The best person you could talk to is a lady called Pat Wood at the dogue de bordeaux breeders club, i will do another post with her number, she will give you as much help as you like.
