Had a roller coaster week with BIg Eck. He now enjoys playing with other dogs and had a great recall - then we got attacked by 2 dogs on our own doorstep which was scary. One dog leaped up at me snarling and snapping before joining his pal in trying to gut Echo, then when I kicked them off the owner yelled she'd get me done for cruelty. This didnt set him back too much, but these dogs live in our street and Echo will never forget the incident.. We toddled along to our first training class and did superbly well. He paid attention to me, was civil and happy to see the other dogs and enjoyed a bus trip on the way home - a bit too much as he put his paws up on the sill to see out the window. He now likes in the car thanks to his harness and sits in the passenger seat. And today the old recall failed totally, he rushed off sticking his 2 fingers up, and is now demoted to on lead walks again. AND the idiots next door let their collie out without a lead ( He and Echo hate each other) as we came home and stood laughing as chaos ensued, until they noticed Eck had their dog by the throat.. Got in, calmed it all down but Echo piddled up the hall wall shortly afterwards. Was going to have a relaxing bath but left the door open as it ran and Echo jumped in the bath to get a drink from the cold tap.

Oh boy - sounds like you and Eck are having fun - and how!!!! Things will even out, he is, on the whole, behaving himself now - and you are making leaps and bounds - including bounds into the bath (I think its a good thing that you and Chloe don't live too near each other - I think Willis & Eck sounds as if they have a lot in common!!!)
It's still early days, Lorelei - you don't know what he had to put up with before he was lucky enough to pick you & your family - the peeing up the wall after an upset says it all, doesn't it - insecure enough (even though he'd just acted the Big Bad Dug) to have to mark his space!
You're doing fine :)

Hi Lorelei :)
Sounds like your boy has put you through every conceivable emotion one after the other this week  BUT, as a big plus point you've been making progress and everytime you're suffering a backward step you're following up with two forward so I think you should give yourself a big pat on the back (and just let him share the occasional long soak in a Radox bath - see if it calms his stresses for the day, even if it means your knees are up to your chin :D )
Keep up the good work, it's paying off!
Regards, Teri :)
