Bailey tipped over the bin and ate all the pasta left overs he had not long finished his dinner and was sick. When I tried to pull him away he was trying to eat it and getting quite aggressive when I told him no. Hes never aggressive to us and was fine once I started cleaning it why did he want to eat sick?

Because if he did in the wild he would starve.  So they re-eat their sick...well thats what I was told when a was a young girl!

Mother-dogs regurgitate food for their puppies, so eating sick is a normal thing for dogs to do.

I know it is normal but I wish I had skiped this post!!

Oh well off to put my toast in the bin - lol

I had to run to make sure the 8 week old pup didn't eat what was on the floor after one of the cats had been sick :(
I think he thought it was a nice warm meal for him :D

I find this a useful tool in diagnosing whats made the dog sick.....

Food that just went down too fast, or needed a bit more chewing, or just readjusting in the stomach gets re-eaten quickly, althugh sometimes the original owner of said dinner loses out and someone else gets it.

Sick caused by dog eating something bad, or off or because the dog is ill, will not get re-eaten by anyone IME.

My dogs sometimes chuck up chicken necks they've swallowed whole,they then eat them again but chew them a bit better first :D

i was originally told that if ur dog eats its sick then its not ill... but then more recently told that u shouldnt let ur dog eat its sick cos it could be tryin to get rid of posion from its body (assuming its eaten somethin poisonous)
