JUST TOOK WASHING OUT OF TUMBLE AND YET AGAIN PUP STEALS ANOTHER SOCK :D (MANY A DOG HAS BEEN KNOWN TO CHOKE ON A SOCK ESPECIALY MY HUSBANDS) WHY SOCKS SHE DOESNT PINCH ENYTHING ELSE JUST SOCKS ANYONE ELSE GET THIS PROBLEM :D :) :D
At least you know where the sock went.
When I'm done with my laundry I have at least 10 single socks left :(
No idea where the other one went !! They just seem to be eaten by either washer or dryer :(
I now switched over to all black socks...you can tell they're a bit different when looking at them but now when I'm
wearing them :D
I just got so sick and tired of making pairs and being left with singles...I just can't be botherd anymore...just grap 2 and put them on in the morning ...works great for me..
P.S. The pup only wants socks if my feet are still in them...same for my cats....no risk on choking just pain for me :)

dont no y they love socks so much, mine will eat anything from popsocks, to my sons sport socks.
then they iether sick them up or they come out the other end. not so bad when they do it at home, but a bit embarrasing when you have to pull a popsock out of a boxers bottom when walking along a main road,
" believe me they strecth a long way" the socks that is not his bottom!

The other day I caught the dog under the bed, chewing hubby's sock, but the funniest thing was he had a choice of my knickers (clean of course!) or the sock, and he left my knickers alone!! Well trained pet! We've only had him six weeks and I'd say he's working at a level of one sock a week!
Ronnie likes bras they are his top favourite!! Especially mine!! and dirty knickers the perv!

All joking aside, please beware, socks can and are dangerous. Just over a year ago my Golden swallowed one of my husbands socks and it got stuck. :( he ended up having to have surgery to remove it :( he was very poorly for a good few weeks and we nearly lost him :( and it cost me nearly £800 at the vets to put him right.

Just bought myself a load of socks today as I'm down to my last pair thanks to Zymi :D

You dont say what breed but it sounds as if you need to train a retrieve game with the washing, that way hopefully you get them back rather than them being digested. If they are mainly wool or cotton they should digest rather than get stuck unless it is a very large sock or a small dog :)
P.S mine still has a thing about insoles and she is 2.

Maybe it's our sweaty feet that are the real problem ;-)

Sweaty feet MOI Never. Strange how her favourites are the insoles out of my dog walking boots though (they are only about 3 years old, but worn every day :D )
Hi my pup loves to sneak of with a sock or any form of underwear he can manage to get his teeth into, he not so picky when it comes to bras my sons underwear, lol think we should of called him pervy puppy
My old JR used to love dirty nickers and pants but Molly adores the kids socks. I have lost count of the amount of times I have had to pull them out of her bum. I think her stomach must be cast iron though as nothing ever upsets her stomach! Its no wonder she has the nickname the fiend!

I had to buy a new washing basket, as he learnt to pull them out of the holes (normall plastic one). Dont know why he has a thing for socks, but all training goes out the window when he has one, and I have to chase him to get it back!!

Bradley used to like presenting my guests with bra's or my pants. Now that was embarrasing.
Got to agree that is even worse than pulling socks from a dogs bottom :)

My 5 month old Labrador loves socks too. he doesn't try to eat them though...just chews them for a bit and then burries them in the back garden. I think some of them are starting to flower.
According to the tutors at our puppy school, dogs like sweaty feet because to them it smells just like another dogs bits. So maybe socks do too...
