my gsd has hip displacie to an extent where she has difficulty walking. i decided to breed her with a good stud dog of my friends. she is due to give birth shortly. how can i tell if the pups will have displacia and if they do should i put them down. if i should how should i do it

(1)    If your dog really does have displasia to the extent that you describe why the **** are you putting her through the trauma of pregnancy and birth?   This is not the action of a caring owner - even if you have mated her with a "good stud dog".   What is his hip score?

(2)    If any puppies need to be euthanised, a vet must do it.

I think in the circumstances, I would advise that the whole litter be culled - how do you know you are not bringing an entire litter into the world who will not suffer pain from early on in their lives?   Or is money your main concern?

If this is a genuine post, then I would suggest you take your bitch to the vet and have her spayed, which will terminate the pregnancy. A dog or bitch with dysplasia should never be bred from at all.

If this isn't a genuine post, get a life.

Anyone who has had a dog with displasia would not even joke about it, this is just a sick, sad, lonely person with nothing better to do.  They never leave their names or contact details do they?

I cannot believe this post!! The breed I own used to suffer quite badly from hip displacia and they have to be hip scored to breed from! Our first 2 dogs both suffered with hip displacia and it was devastating to watch them in pain, let alone BREED FROM THEM! This bitch should never have been bred from, and I am horrified that anyone would put an animal through that. Cannot say any morethan that!!!!

That is so sad :-(

I do hope it is a WUM - I cant beleve people would honestly breed a dog with signs of this
