Most search engines homepages have instructions as to how to add your own website :)

This is where you can add it to Google

www.submitexpress.com let you add to multiple engines, as do www.addme.com and www.ineedhits.com
Also go to www.dmoz.org which is a directory that google et all use so if you get listed in there you usually get on google etc

Most search engines have robots 'crawlers' that will search the internet and they will find your website whilst they do their search. It can take a good few weeks before you're listed though so dont be too worried if its not up there tomorrow.

You can also list your site in website directorys, those are databases that you enter your details on to.

Just two ways you can get found :)

Whoops! I just reallised thatbthe website you have looked at is not my 'own personal one' It is Adams which is for GSps in general and not just our kennel. Adam did make mine but its smaller...still stuff to do on it. I will try and amend my profile. Thanks for the help guys..

Star you need to have a fiddle with your web address in your profile its not working .I think its because you've got a space after www. that shouldnt be there :)

Hi Sue,

Just visited your website - it's lovely and has all the right things to keep interest - easy navigation, quick opening pages and of course lots of info and variety etc :)  Did you use Front Page to build it?  Just ask because it looks similar to one of their templates  ;)  If you like you can pm me and I'll give you some tips on how to ensure your site gets a higher profile (free) without nasty banner advertising etc :)   For example if you were to type in my Affix into Google, (without mentioning my breed or even DOGS at all :D it's the third link on the first page out of 34,300 - and my Affix is an actual place name - yet I beat the local Tourist Board in the rankings :)

ps:  not necessarily a good thing if someone's looking for B&B accommodation though

Regards, Teri

A word of caution. You may find yourself getting phone calls asking if you want to be added to other search engines. My advice is don't, all they are after is your cash, Ok they may be genuine but in my experience most of the search engines they put you on are for other countries.

If you do sign up for a search engine first check out where they are going to place you as most are obsure which nobody has even heard of, they list you as going on hundreds but most just arn't worth it.

I would give it a little time and then look first, and you will find I suspect you will be mentioned  if only as a link to your site.
