We had the song from Robin Hood sung by Bryan Adams cant think of the title but it was number 1 for ages when we got married. I can honestly say that ranks amongst one of those moments I would rather forget. I am afraid me and my hubby dont do romantic.

"If your not the one" by Daniel Beddingfield. My OH and I had a wee falling out and he sent me this song and I sat and cried for about an hour before I phoned him and told him to come home :D He's a romantic big plonker lol :D :D :D He also gave me a copy of Darren Hayes "I miss you" Hmm no chance of us ever getting married tho :D I'd have to get divorced first :D :D When I got married to my ex we had "Endless Love" by Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross. We couldn't decide on a song as my ex wasn't particulary musical so the DJ that did our reception picked it. Hmmm wrong song I think :D

I got married last September, and our first dance was to 'I only have eyes for you' which was a re-make by Rod Stewart. It's nice because it's not a REALLY slow dance, it has a lovely rhythm to it, and the words are beautiful.

Blondiflops love that to..
We had Lionel Richie's Ballerina Girl I think the music to it is lovely.
Lyrics if you don't know it.
Ballerina girl you are so lovely
With you standing there
I'm so aware
Of how much I care for you
You are more than now
You are for always
I can see in you my dreams come true
Don't you ever go away
You make me feel like
There's nothing I can't do
And when I hold you
I only want to say I love you
Ballerina girl the joy you bring me
Every day and night
Holding you tight
How I've waited for your love
Sometimes I've wondered
If you'd ever come my way
Now that I've finally found you
This is where my heart will stay woah
Never gonna break your heart
Never will we drift apart
Also love Bryan Adam's, "Thought I'd died and gone to Heaven"
George Michael's " Ican't make you love me". ( although maybe not the best for the wedding ;-)

RFLOL @ Bazza ! :D :D
Hum I dont remember what we had (yes it was that long ago). How about something instrumental, much less contriversal
Berlin- take my breath away, or if you like a bit of heavier stuff metallica- Nothing else matters!!
I'm getting married next April and we can't agree on a song. My fiance suggested "It's the End of the World As We Know It". That really isn't going to happen!
I quite like "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling, although it's not ideal to dance to. We'll probably end up with a Frank Sinatra number or something equally safe.
Saying that (sorry don't mean to hijack this thread), I'm not sure if a DJ is the right choice for us. It's going to be quite a traditional wedding and my mother's quite keen for us to have classical music of some kind. Obviously not a full orchestra, that would be a bit OTT, but perhaps a string quartet or similar. I'd love to hear the opinions of the other people on here planning a wedding (actually, anyone's opinion would be appreciated).

P.S. While I agree that "Every Breath You Take" is a beautiful song, isn't it about a psycho stalking his ex? Just a thought!

Ooh hooray! Someone else who thinks 'Every Breath You Take' is creepy and stalker-ish? Is that what it was really about? I thought I was being paranoid reading that message into the song. :o
I agree every breath you take a bit stalker-ish. We had every cd in the house out last night and have narrowed it down to a David Gray tune or a Simply Red tune, so at least we are getting there lol. Thanks for everyones input.

Yep, Every Breath You Take is definitely about stalking an ex! And Perfect Day is allegedly about taking drugs (sorry Lucy!). But both are brilliant songs :D

Or how about D J Sammy, heaven (candlelight version), it really is a beautiful song, think it is a re-make of a bryan adams hit or Paul Weller , you do something to me.

That advert about getting stalked really spoilt the song!! I think its about caring for somebody and watching everything they do and being there for them. Dont care who disagrees i love it.
He did write it about stalking an ex though!! I watched a programme the other week and one of his bandmates from Police was saying that they all had such a good laugh when it became a slushy number as it was never meant to be!!
My Sister had Somebody by Depeche Mode played at her wedding:
I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts
Know my intimate details
Someone who'll stand by my side
And give me support
And in return
She'll get my support
She will listen to me
When I want to speak
About the world we live in
And life in general
Though my views may be wrong
They may even be perverted
She'll hear me out
And won't easily be converted
To my way of thinking
In fact she'll often disagree
But at the end of it all
She will understand me
I want somebody who cares
For me passionately
With every thought and
With every breath
Someone who'll help me see things
In a different light
All the things I detest
I will almost like
I don't want to be tied
To anyone's strings
I'm carefully trying to steer clear of
Those things
But when I'm asleep
I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me
And kiss me tenderly
Though things like this
Make me sick
In a case like this
I'll get away with it
I think its a nice song!!
